Training Plans: Need a little guidance to reach your running goals?  Looking for a plan to get you to the finish line? Visit our Train Local page to see how the trainers at Central Maine Conditioning Clinic can help you achieve your goals! If however, you are looking to go about it on your own, there are many options such as Cool Running that offer some really great advice and tools for race planning including a free app for those who would like to track their progress. Whether you are looking to run your first 5k or train for a ½ marathon—these tools can help you get there:

Pace Calculator:
As we develop our training and conditioning throughout the season, your running times and race pace will likely also change. That’s why figuring out the pace you’ll need to hit your goal is important when doing your training. Luckily, you don’t have to figure this out on your own. Our pace spreadsheet shows you what time a given pace will produce for a specific race distance and level of effort. All you have to do is enter in your mile pace (upper left of the spreadsheet) and the calculations do the rest. Good luck and happy racing! View it here and download the document if you want to use it to calculate different pace times.

Running Gear and Clothing: If you’re new to running, you may be a bit overwhelmed by all the gear and lingo that gets thrown around by the more experienced runners. You may wonder if you really need everything that they talk about, or if it’s OK to start out with a few basics. Highlighted below are a few articles which will help you understand what you truly need when you’re just getting started and what you can (or cannot) add as you tackle more miles. You can also visit our Train Local page to learn more about services offered through Central Maine Conditioning Clinic such as gait analysis, orthotic needs and proper footwear.
